CELEBRITY
JUST IN: Taylor Swift says: I really dislike doing these after a loss. I’m sick to my stomach and don’t even want to think about the game. I think they heard me in Brazil, but it didn’t help. So, rather than be completely bitter, I’ll share my thoughts as a therapeutic release.

I really dislike doing these after a loss. I’m sick to my stomach and don’t even want to think about the game. I think they heard me in Brazil, but it didn’t help. So, rather than be completely bitter, I’ll share my thoughts as a therapeutic release.
1 – I think I traveled back in time and re-lived many of my Chiefs’ nightmares in this game. Our number one receiver was out before the season started, our number 2 receiver was taken out by friendly fire, Jawaan Tayor was a flag magnet, Carl Cheffers, aka Mr Footlocker, was reffing the game calling a bogus roughing the passer call and other things, receivers are dropping passes, Mahomes forced to dink and dunk for most of the game, defenders are letting receivers catch wide open passes, we struggle putting pressure on their QB, their QB runs at will picking up critical yardage, we go down by 10 points, our pass rushers are getting held from behind and no flags are thrown, and what else did I miss? That was ugly…
2 – I think Mahomes put the team on his back and carried them as far as he could. With Worthy going out on the first series, I think that had a tremendous impact on this game. Some of the play calling had me scratching my head. Again, this might have been a result of Worthy not being out there. Mahomes made some truly incredible plays. When the center rolled him the snap, he made a positive play on what looked like was going to be a negative play. The throw to JJSS when he was going down was insane. The bomb to Hollywood on 4th and 7 was quite unbelievable also. He did make some key runs and even punished a defender when he lowered his shoulder and popped him at the sideline.
3 – I think if you hit someone hard enough to snap their head back, it doesn’t matter if your hand is open or a clenched fist, you should be ejected on the spot. That clown ended up getting his big paw on a couple of passes in key situations. He should have never been on the field.
4 – I think the defense will get better as the year goes on. It seems to always happen. There are some young players out there and it takes a while to figure out Spag’s defense. They left too many receivers wide open for easy conversions. They made Herbert look like an all pro. I do think the Charges throwing the ball so much took Spags by surprise, but we didn’t adjust to stop it.
5 – I think the FG just before halftime was one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. It was not a chip shot, but a 59 yarder. That was like a fire drill. Butker was solid but did miss the XP after a TD. I think that field was not the greatest, but he should have made the XP. It changed the trajectory of the rest of the game.
6 – I think I am not impressed with games on YouTube. I didn’t realize how much I re-wind when I miss something or want to see it again. That was not an option, at least for me. I also paused the game once and when I un-paused it, it jumped to live. I guess I haven’t watched enough live events on YouTube to realize it would do that. Also I was not impressed with the field in Brazil. I know they did a lot of work to make it the best they could, but I did notice a lot of players, on both sides, slipping somewhat. Sometimes it was minor or away from the ball, but I think it is a safety issue. Maybe it was because of the light rain or moisture, idk???
7 – I think they way underutilized Kelce. He only had one catch by halftime. He did make a huge play down the stretch though. He could have or should have made another big play but he slowed on his route near the goal line. It think he would have scored if he had just kept running.
8 – I know I briefly mentioned Jawaan Taylor earlier, but his mistakes were costly. I will say that I noticed him moving early a couple other times that were not called. However, the Chargers’ right tackle also was doing the same thing and he didn’t get a flag. Anyway, when Kelce was yelling at Taylor in the huddle, it seemed to work. Did he get a flag after that? Too bad my yelling did not have the same effect.
9 – I think for the most part, Josh Simmon did really well, especially for his first NFL start. He will just keep getting better. The offensive line usually takes the longest to become a cohesive unit. Mahomes did receive pressure but I would have to re-watch it to see where it was coming from. I don’t think much of it was coming from Simmons side.
10 – I think there are so many other things I could include. The run game never got established, but that’s sometimes difficult when you’re playing from behind the whole game. KC never led once. KC went 0-7 on 3rd down in the first half. That is unbelievable. The Chief’s defense couldn’t get off the field at times. KC basically had one possession in the 3rd quarter. They did get the ball back right before the quarter ended. KC didn’t come out after halftime which was bizarre. CJ appeared to be singing the Brazilian National Anthem. The Chiefs’ fans were there and you could really hear “home of the CHIEEEEEFS” in the National Anthem.
It’s a long season and this is just one game. People are going to over-react. Sports media will overreact. I don’t plan on watching any of them. KC has a tough schedule ahead of them facing the Eagles next week. I’m guessing Worthy will be out, but who knows? At least KC will have a week or so to gameplan without him.
This is not the start we wanted but I remember losing to the Lions on our opening game a couple years ago and that worked out alright.
Ok, I feel better now. Good night.
Go CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
