Prince William ends the year revealing more details about Kate Middleton’s cancer and his father King Charles III
William admits that 2024 was the “hardest year” of his life.
The British Royal Family has gone through tons of trials and tribulations over the past half-decade. Starting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping down from royal duties, Queen Elizabeth then passed away in 2022. The family was hit hard with terrible news once again at the beginning of this year, as King Charles and Kate Middleton were diagnosed with cancer.
All of that has likely hit Prince William harder than anyone else. He has seen his brother estranged, his grandmother gone, and two of his closest relatives sick. Unsurprisingly, that has led to William declaring that this year has been the toughest of his life to this point.
On a recent trip to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, William gave an interview to UK print media and spoke about how challenging 2024 has been.
Honestly? It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult. But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal.
William revealed that Kate is “doing well”. It really seems that both Kate and Charles attacked their cancer diagnoses with a great mindset, which has helped them make strides throughout the year.
But it’s no surprise to hear William admit how difficult 2024 has been for him and his family. Making it even more “brutal” was that it was his wife and father, at practically the same time. Hopefully, 2025 will bring better fortune for William.
