Patrick Mahomes Sr. is back in trouble with the police after he was caught driving without a valid license, just months after a driving whilst intoxicated arrest.He is the father of Kensas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and whilst his son receives constant adoration and plaudits for his incredible career, Mahomes Sr. struggles to make positive headlines.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Mahomes Sr. was ticketed for the offense in Tyler, Texas at around 8:30 PM on June 29, less than five months after he was arrested for DWI in the same city.
There is a lack of clarity so far on whether Mahomes Sr.’s license was suspended or revoked, with the police declining to comment. Trial coming for Mahomes Sr.
He is supposed to go on trial for the DWI arrest later in July and this latest incident certainly will not help his case. According to a report from KLTV, Mahomes Sr.’s legal team requested an independent blood examination post-arrest. The court granted this motion, and the results revealed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.23, which is significantly above the legal intoxication limit of 0.08 BAC in Texas.
Following this discovery, there are reports that Mahomes Sr. has a plea deal on the table which includes a 10-year probation period, though the district attorney has indicated a willingness to consider reducing the probation duration.
