Married at First Sight Alum Amber Bowles Welcomes First Baby with Husband Kevin: ‘So Glad He’s Here’ (Exclusive)

Married at First Sight alum Amber Bowles is a mom! The former reality TV star, 32, revealed exclusively to PEOPLE that she and her husband Kevin have welcomed their first baby, son Kenan Brian Laltoo, on Aug. 13, 2024.

Baby Kenan arrived weighing 5 lbs., 12 oz., and measured 20.5 inches long at birth. “I was rushed to be induced because of severe preeclampsia, which was so scary,” the season 9 fan favorite shared with PEOPLE, “but I’m so glad he’s here and healthy as can be!”

The couple initially announced they were expecting their first baby together in an Instagram post on March 31. Sharing a picture of the two standing in a park while Kevin cradled Bowles’ belly, the new mom wrote, “Baby Laltoo August 2024 🩵🩷 Any guesses on gender?”

Two months later, Bowles revealed on Instagram that the couple had tied the knot in a courthouse. “In one year we… traveled to Wilmington, Orlando, Maine, Grenada, Puerto Rico, Japan (honestly probably more places I’m forgetting). We got engaged and married at the courthouse lol!” she shared in the caption on May 18. Bowles continued, “We moved in together and bought a house. We got a puppy. And the best of all, we are starting our family with our sweet baby boy coming in August. I just love you so much @k_lal!!!”

The couple met up for their first date at Amber’s favorite pizza spot in Charlotte, N.C., after spotting each other on the dating app Hinge. She recalled having an immediate connection with Kevin as they discovered all the things they have in common.

“On the first date, he asked me my favorite place I’ve traveled and I said Grenada and ironically that’s his favorite place too. He went to med school there,” she told PEOPLE.
Kevin — who is from Trinidad — popped the question while the travel-loving couple was enjoying a vacation on the picturesque Caribbean island.
“We recently planned what I thought was a chill getaway to our favorite place, and he proposed on our favorite beach,” Amber shared with PEOPLE at the time. “I’ve very, very excited and super in shock. I had no idea!”
