Conor McGregor is a very shrewd businessman who knows when to make the right calls and his latest endeavour into the world of sports betting back that up after the ex-UFC Champion won over eight million dollars gambling on soccer.
And as it turns out, both results went perfectly in the favor of the 36-year-old Notorious thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal and Lautaro Martinez’s winning goals, respectively in a successful partnership with Duel bits.
And it didn’t stop there either as he correctly called the winner of the Wimbledon Men’s Singles championship game between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, which the young Spaniard won in straight sets to claim his second successive title at Centre Court.
“Thinking a nice 100k treble also,” McGregor posted online prior to the events. “Spain, Argentina, and Carlos Alcarez Wimbledon!
“100k clears 4 million return.. Add that… And I want my money.”
He also stuck some money on Nate Diaz to defeat Jorge Masvidal, which he did via majority decision back on July 6 at the Honda Center in California in a rematch of their 2019 UFC 244 fight.
Impressively, the results from soccer mean that McGregor’s earnings from betting alone ensure he remains a bigger fish than any other UFC fighter, eclipsing their salaries, before looking at his other business ventures and earnings.
When does Conor McGregor fight next?
McGregor was due to step into the ring for his UFC return against Michael Chandler on June 29 before the fight had to be postponed due to an injury to the Irishman, who pulled out of the event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
But now the date for the rematch appears to be set and booked in, pleasing Dana White, with December 14 the chosen date according to a reporter called Ariel Helwani.
