Brad Pitt Feels It’s Time To Share His Side Of Bitter Divorce From Angelina Jolie(EXCLUSIVE) SEE DETAILS 👇 👇 👇
Angelina Jolie didn’t name names. But during recent interviews promoting her movie Maria, in which she plays famed opera star Maria Callas, the Oscar winner has made what many believe are subtle references to ex-husband Brad Pitt. In December 2024, for example, she hinted at hiding “a lot of the pain” from their kids in the past. The next month, Angie, 49, talked about how much she dislikes “a liar.” Meanwhile, another January sit-down had the actress wondering how much her “light [was] dimmed” by challenges she’s endured over the past few years.
Those last comments emerged days after she and Brad, 61, finally settled their bitter divorce battle on December 30. More than eight years have passed since she left husband No. 3, but Angelina, “continues to throw out these not-so-veiled jabs, and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know who she’s referring to,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “Now that their divorce is final, Brad’s telling friends maybe it’s time to share his side.”
The actor isn’t seeking revenge, the insider insists. But after facing so much heartbreak in the wake of their 2016 split, a brutal yearslong custody battle, and the final issue they need to resolve — lawsuits over ownership rights to their former family home and winery in France, Château Miraval — he’s grown tired of the secrets and lies. “Brad,” says the insider, “would really love to set the record straight.”
Brad Pitt’s Next Chapter After His Divorce From Angelina Jolie
Brad will soon be sitting down for interviews of his own as he travels the world promoting F1, the summer blockbuster in which he plays a veteran Formula One race car driver. “And Brad knows people won’t just be asking him about the movie,” notes the insider.
He has long denied Angelina’s claims he was physically abusive to her and some of their six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 — during an alcohol-fueled argument on a private plane that led her to end their two-year marriage (FBI and child services investigations also cleared him). But there’s more to the story. “Brad’s held on to a lot of secrets about Angelina — some that could change the kids’ opinion of their mom,” warns the insider, explaining that’s “why Brad’s held [things] back for many years.”
Some hints about what took place behind closed doors have already emerged. In legal documents that surfaced in May, security company owner Tony Webb — who’s worked for both stars — alleged one of his employees overheard Angelina “encouraging [the kids] to avoid spending time with Mr. Pitt during custody visits.” That followed previous speculation she’d exerted control over the children’s relationship with their dad in those crucial early days post-split after details of a 2018 custody hearing leaked: A judge ordered her to foster the kids’ connection with Brad and give him their children’s personal cellphone numbers so that “[he] may text them.” She was warned not to monitor their communications.
Though Brad scored a win in 2021 when he was granted joint custody after a lengthy private trial, the ruling was overturned. Angelina got the judge disqualified over what Brad’s team described as a “technical procedural issue.” Since then, Brad — who’s admitted to “boozing too much” before getting sober in the wake of their breakup — has seemingly seen his relationship with his children further deteriorate. Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have all, even publicly, dropped his surname.
Brad Pitt Has Unfinished Business With Angelina Jolie
Now, any court-mandated visitation and contact will end when the twins turn 18 next year. “Brad fears he’s lost his kids forever because they’ve been fed so many lies,” says the insider. “He won’t let Angelina take the winery from him, too.”
In 2022, Brad sued over the 2021 sale of her stake in Miraval to an alcohol conglomerate led by a Russian billionaire, which Brad says violated an agreement they had requiring each to secure the other’s permission before striking a deal with a third party (Angelina’s said she didn’t sell to Brad because a nondisclosure agreement he wanted her to sign would silence her abuse accusations). “He’s going full force on his winery lawsuit,” confirms the insider. “He has nothing left to lose.”
After the case goes to trial — likely later this year — he wants peace. Jewelry exec Ines de Ramon, 35, Brad’s girlfriend of more than two years, has given him hope for a fresh start. “Brad’s grateful for Ines,” says the insider. “She’s done so much to help him heal.”
