Singer MIA has claimed that Jay-Z had told her to ‘get plastic surgery’ after signing her amid the fallout from the accusation that he had raped a 13-year-old girl with Diddy.
The 49-year-old British rapper and singer -real name Mathangi ‘Maya’ Arulpragasam – got candid about the outrageous demand the 55-year-old hip-hop mogul made when she first signed to his record label Roc Nation.
Days before Jay-Z’s sexual assault civil lawsuit, MIA made the claim in a recent video obtained by Livebitez.
She said: ‘Even when I met Jay-Z and I signed to Roc Nation, the first thing he told me to do is get plastic surgery.
‘I’m not insecure because I would’ve got plastic surgery.’
MIA joined Roc Nation in May 2012 which came ahead of he release of her fourth studio album Matangi.
She continued: ‘So their argument of, ‘Maya’s f***ing insecure, that’s why she needs to f***ing massage her ego,’ fails. It fails. Fails because you turn around and ask … What women do you know who hasn’t had plastic surgery around [Jay-Z]?
‘All of them have. I’m the only one who didn’t, which already proves the fact it’s not insecurity.’
She reiterated that if she actually was insecure than she ‘would’ve done that 100 times over.’
MIA was not long for the relationship with Roc Nation as she announced that she was leaving the label after pulling a trailer for a documentary that she had been making for her album in December 2013.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Jay-Z was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs at a party after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in a civil lawsuit filed Sunday.
The accuser, who identifies herself as Jane Doe in the legal documents reviewed by Dailymail.com, says the assault took place at a party after the award show.
The lawsuit had initially been filed in New York’s Southern District this past October against Combs, with a refiling on Sunday naming the rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The woman accusing the rapper claims that the assault took place at an afterparty following the event, which took place September 7, 2000 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
Dailymail.com has reached out to Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing Jay-Z’s accuser, for comment.
Jay-Z issued a lengthy statement to DailyMail.com on Sunday denying the claims made in the re-filed lawsuit. DailyMail.com has also reached out to a Beyoncé representative on the story.
