Selena Gomez has opened up about her desire to start a family, revealing that she previously had plans to adopt a child.
The Only Murders In The Building actress went public with her romance with boyfriend Benny Blanco, 36, in December, and they have been inseparable ever since.
In a candid new interview, the 31-year-old – who was previously diagnosed with lupus – shed light on their surprise relationship, as they inch closer to their one-year anniversary.
Speaking to Time Magazine, the Lose You To Love Me singer shared that she got ‘used to’ being alone before the music producer came along, and had considered adopting a child when she turned 35, if she was still single.
Selena has previously spoken out about starting her own family, sharing that she may not be able to carry a child herself due to risks associated with her bipolar medication.
‘‘That’s a very big, big, present thing in my life,’ she told Rolling Stone in 2022. ‘However I’m meant to have them, I will.’
The Disney icon has also had her fair share of high-profile romances, having dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd in the past.
Unpacking life with her current boyfriend, she explained that she initially just saw Benny as a friend, and had even asked him if he knew of anyone to set her up with before realizing her own feelings.
Their relationship initially didn’t go down well with her fans, as they accused her boyfriend of ‘shading’ her in the past.
Having none of it, she hit back against their comments on social media, describing Benny as ‘the best thing that has happened to her’.
Her beau previously raised eyebrows when he shared that he was hoping to walk down the aisle with Selena, and start a family together.
